Veterinary Update: Neutering With NEUTICLES® | |
|
Although every effort has been made to include all surgical information on the attached surgical procedure, a toll-free helpline is available to
answer questions you may have. The toll-free number is 1-888-638-8425 or (816) 350-7298. E-mail: Neuticles@aol.com. Outside of the U.S. Call 816-690-8337 Neuticles are fully autoclavable and is the recommended sterilization
technique.
It is recommended that a drop of penicillin be placed on each Neuticle prior to implantation. This step adds a secondary sterilization measure and serves as a lubricant in the event of limited implant placement area. Pre-examination is required to assure correct implant sizing. The placement of larger than natural testicles will either not fit in the tunic (or in scrotal applications) may lead to potential complications. In cases (1 in 100) where larger than natural-sized Neuticles were implanted, the pet developed post-operative swelling due to fluid build-up. Tunica implantation was bypassed (refer to surgical procedure attached) and scrotal placement was employed. In each of seven cases reported post-operative care was limited or ignored. Although Neuticles have routinely been implanted in pets up to five years following the traditional neutering procedure, it is recommended that implantation occur at the time of neutering. Post Operative Care There have been no reported complications in over 100,000 commercially implanted canines and felines by over 9000 veterinarians in all 50 states and 32 countries when implanted as directed. Refer to medical disclosures for field studies and related data. (Revised 03/03) (Revised 03/03)
